Stephen P. Brown, 68, of Plainfield, passed away March 3, 2013. He was born January 18, 1945 to the late Myron and Marian (Armstrong) Brown in Plymouth, IN. He was a US Navy veteran. He was a member of the Plainfield United Methodist Church, the Plainfield Kiwanis, Life Master in bridge and chess; and an Eagle Scout. Stephen did his undergraduate studies at Indiana University and received his Masters Degree from the University of Rochester (New York) and his Doctorate from Stoney Brook University (New York). He was a professor at Texas Christian University and Stoney Brook University. He was a District Manager at Equitable Life Insurance Company for 20 years retiring in 2003. Stephen is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Andrew) Meyer and Jeanette (Marty) Brown-Hunt; a brother, Gary E. (Pam) Brown; and two grandchildren, McKenzie and Ethan Meyer. Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Crown Hill Cemetery in Knox, IN. Visitation was at the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
