Robert J. "Hot Rod Bob" Modglin, 66, Brazil, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at home, with his family by his side, following an extended illness. He was born July 26, 1944, in Louisville, Ky., the son of Charles and Thelma (Lee) Modglin. He graduated from Plainfield High School. Bob enlisted in the United States Air National Guard in 1963. He served in Vietnam until being honorably discharged five years later. After returning home he began working for Good Will Industries, Plainfield, and later Kocolene and Clarke Gas Stations, Danville, until retiring due to illness in 1993. He married Janet Danberg Feb. 22, 1990. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, drag racing and hunting Ginseng. He also loved spending time with his family. He will forever be remembered as the ultimate family man and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Thelma Modglin, brother William Modglin, and grandsons Braeden Modglin and Peyton and Gavin Walker. He is survived by his wife Janet, children Charles "Chuck" Modglin (Shannon), Matt Modglin, Sara Walker (John), Dusty Modglin (Holly), Michael Modglin (Rachel), Brett Modglin, and Seth Modglin, and grandchildren Marty, Morgin, Caitlyn, Chloe, Noah, Bailey, Briley, Owen, Paisley, Addison and Hannah. Services for Bob were held at French Funeral Home Jan. 13, 2011 with Pastor Lonnie Rector officiating. Burial was at Highland Lawn Cemetery, Terre Haute.
