After graduation, I went to IU/Bloomington, graduating in 1967 with a B.S. degree in physical education with a minor in biology. During the summers I worked as the waterfront director and camp counselor at a Girl Scout camp in Brown County. After my graduation from IU, I taught junior high physical education, health and seventh grade general science in Perry township/Indianapolis from 1967-1970. I returned to IU/Bloomington in 1970 and completed my master’s degree in physical education in 1972. I began working with the Indianapolis Department of Parks and Recreation in September 1972 and have been with the City of Indianapolis/Dept. of Parks ever since. I have held a variety of different positions from recreation facility director, school recreation programmer, special needs section supervisor, aquatics manager, and am currently the administrative assistant to the Community Recreation Administrator.
