I graduated from Purdue in 1967 with a degree in electrical engineering and worked for year as an engineer before attending medical school at IU and residency at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. I have practiced internal medicine specializing in renal disease in the Indianapolis and Greenwood areas since 1975. After graduating from IUPUI Law school in 1993, I did a fair amount of administrative and legal work for St. Francis Hospital in addition to part time medical practice. Married to wife Cheri (undergraduate and masters degres from IU). 3 children-Joe grad from Purdue, Sarah Phd student at M.I.T. and Emily undergrad at Purdue. Enjoy hiking, birdwatching, photography, gardening, travel and working with Habitat for Humanity in Morgan County, plus medical and missionary work in Central America. I retired this past January from my role in patient safety at St. Francis Hospital although I continue to serve on their regional Board and work with their Quality Committee on a volunteer basis. Hobbies and volunteer activities fairly much the same as previously listed with the addition of serving on the Morgan County Soil and Water Conservation Board and working with the recycling initiatives and various environmental projects in the local farming community. My wife, Cheri, retired in March of this year from her job in the area of infection prevention for the IU Health system hospital in Martinsville. Son Joe working in environmental restoration/ecology area (currently looking for new job), Sarah at Mass. General Hospital doing a research focused residency in oncology/pathology and is married with a one year old son, Kofi who is an absolute delight. Emily lives and works in Bloomington at a plasma donation center.
